
The Ortho Academy is pleased to be presenting the advanced orthodontics workshop. Those practitioners who have previously attended the beginner workshop and have started treating orthodontic patients will find this workshop to be particularly useful. The aim of the workshop is to assist is to re-focus the practitioners on the basic principles of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment and to transition to more complex cases. This will be done by means of lectures, clinical case discussions and practical exercises.
The objective of the workshop is to:
- Emphasise the link between orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Explore principles of anchorage and anchorage control in orthodontic treatment.
- Explore orthodontic treatment in the mixed dentition stage including serial extractions and early treatment.
- Explore the management of complex orthodontic cases
- Explore principles of finishing and space closure.
- Perform practical and wire bending exercises.
